Artists statement

As I walk through the thick forests of the Southwest I can’t help but marvel at the Karri and Tingle Trees. How they have survived through wildfires and logging to become the Giants of the Wilderness of today reaching toward the sky above from the fragile earth below.

This painting captures the essence and texture of the forest as it reaches ever upwards to the heavens above. A testament to endurance.

Beeswax & damar resin with pigments added over inks the chosen mediums.
